Engaging and Flexible
As a parent and former teacher, I love sharing books with children! As an author, I enjoy sharing my passion for reading and for environmental stewardship. I am happy to tailor my presentation to the needs of a particular school or classroom and can accommodate both large and small groups.
I’m available for both in person and virtual school visits.
Presentation Goals
When I present, I strive to:
inspire children to read and write
engage the audience through trivia or hands-on experiences
provide a behind the scenes look at the book-making process
give practical tips for student writers
inspire environmental stewardship
Presentation
My standard presentation includes information on my journey to becoming an author, my inspiration for writing, a look at the publication process, and actionable takeaways for the audience.
I find it valuable to collaborate with schools to build a presentation tailored to individual needs, so please feel free to reach out with that in mind. I’m available for large assemblies, classroom visits, smaller writing workshops, as well as a shorter read aloud with Q&A.
My presentations for Pre-K through grade 1 are approximately 30 minutes (including Q & A) and 45 minutes for grades 2 and up.
Honorarium
My honorarium varies based on the type and number of presentations as well as the school location. Please contact me below for more information.
“Mrs. Isaac’s reading of her book, The Planet We Call Home, and her connected presentation was an incredibly powerful experience for our 4th grade students! I love how she walked students through her journey, from a young reader and writer as a child, to becoming a published author. She shared all the trials, challenges, sources of inspiration, and steps in the process along the way, which were a fantastic examples of perseverance, flexibility, and commitment. She used images to introduce students to all the people who make up her publishing team, which was an excellent example of representation and teamwork for the students to understand all the different people and talents needed to collaborate together to produce a published book. Ms. Isaac engaged students in a discussion around the interconnectedness of our ecosystems and the importance of caring for our planet as shown in her book. She offered tangible ways that students could make a difference and connected to students’ experiences in our local community. Students walked away empowered with solutions as change-makers and environmental stewards. The Planet We Call Home tastefully and lovingly inspires students with a message our future needs!”
